On Saturday, May 12th – Amp the Cause, a nonprofit in Denver that raises critical health and education funds, generates awareness of local charities, uses monetary and in-kind donations to help children with life-threatening illnesses, and provides opportunities for kids to participate in educational programs in a safe and healthy environment, hosted it’s 2018 Community Day. Community Day is one day where nearly 1,000 volunteers dedicate 6 hours to 50 nonprofits.
This year, we partnered with Wells Fargo and they helped us complete some awesome projects on our campus. This wonderful group of volunteers helped us construct our raised beds for our new garden program, planted flowers in our pots and beds, repainted trim inside one of our entry ways, deep cleaned a therapy room, and so much more. We cannot thank our friends from Wells Fargo enough for all their help with these projects and dedicating their Saturday afternoon to DCAC.
With the help of this group, we will be able to successfully launch our new garden program. This will allow our staff members to grow fresh produce with their clients, utilize the gardens during therapy sessions, make recipes from the produce grown with in the gardens, and offer clients and their families fresh produce to take home with them. Thank you again, Amp the Cause and Wells Fargo!
