A BIG thank you to the hosts and guests of Soul Food Saturday! Local neighbors gathered to enjoy some southern food and local music to raise money for DCAC.
A group of friends threw a potluck to recreate some of their favorite dishes from back home 11 years ago, which turned into a large backyard party with live music. In 2020, they decided to raise money for a local charity — and chose DCAC!
Attendees donated raffle prizes, employers matched donations, and this year they set up a dunk tank. Soul Food Saturday has raised $15,500 in the last three years, and this year alone they raised another $10,000, which will all go to DCAC!
We want to thank Joey Licato and Joe Primm for organizing and David Mack for hosting at his home. A special thanks to Derek Sorkin for matching this year’s totals and to JE Dunn Construction for matching donations from the party over the years.
