Amy joined DCAC as a Child and Family Therapist in 2021. Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado and Texas. Originally from Dallas, TX, Amy obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University and Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Following graduation, Amy began her Social Work career in the foster care and adoption field for 10 years. Amy worked with all members of the adoption triad, including adoptive parents, birth parents, and adult adoptees providing counseling and case management services before focusing more on a clinical social work role. Amy joined the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center as a Therapist, where she received training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and PSB-CBT (Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Amy is currently certified in EMDR and TF-CBT.
