During this 3 hour training, Dr. Gizane Indart will go over a challenging case study. She will share with the audience the theoretical models used to assess the problematic and chronic sexualized behaviors the case presented as well as the interventions implemented. Also, she will address a variety of interventions not used- but that in retrospect could have been extremely useful. This training requires attendees to work and to get familiarized with the case before April 18th. Level: Moderate to Advanced.

Dr. Gizane Indart is the Executive Director of the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) for the training, prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Gizane is a bilingual and bicultural professional who has worked with traumatized children and their families since the early 1990s. Gizane is a fellow at the ChildTrauma Academy under the direction of Dr. Bruce Perry. She speaks locally, nationally, and internationally on the impact of abuse and neglect in early development, attachment difficulties in children exposed to maltreatment, short term and long term consequences of children exposed to early trauma, and sexualized behaviors in children. Gizane is a member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, the Children’s Cabinet Subcommittee, and of the Early Childhood Mental Health Infrastructure of Colorado. Additionally, Gizane serves as a consultant for the Child Abuse and Neglect Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2018, Gizane was invited to be a member of the Denver District Attorney’s Advisory Council on Immigration.
